The Alpina Roadster V8 is a two-door roadster manufactured and marketed by Alpina, a German car manufacturer, from 2002 to 2003. With only 500 units manufactured, it's no surprise that this model is a rare vehicle made by Alpina.
History of Alpina Roadster V8
After completing the Z8 model in November 2002, Alpina Roadster V8 replaced the Z8 in 2003. The Alpina was a change from the previous car's sharp sports focus, with aspects of grand touring purpose visible throughout this final version. The Alpina debuted solely with an automatic transmission that features a 5-speed BMW Steptronic gearbox. Instead of using the original 6-speed manual and 4.9 L (S62) engine present in the original Z8, Alpina decided to use a 4.8L Alpina-tuned BMW M62 V8 engine from the Alpina E39 B10 V8 S. Only 555 BMW Alpina V8 Roadster Limited Edition units were available between June 2002 and October 2003. It is now out of production. It was a more pure model than the original E52 series, focusing on delivering a pleasant and joyful ride in true GT style.
Price
Initially, only BMW dealerships could sell the Alpina Roadster V8, which retailed for $139,295. Even with inflation, that works out to about $200,000 in today's dollars—that's exactly $217,651 in 2022. In the United States, 450 of the total 555 vehicles were sold. Last Summer 2021, a 2003 BMW Alpina Roadster V8 sold on Bring a Trailer for $352,500.

The Buchloe-based tuner also fitted the Alpina V8 Roadster with a new, high-grade, more subtle interior leather trim and an Alpina-branded analog instrument panel with Alpina Blue field as part of the custom makeover.
