Buick LaCrosse First Generation (2004 - 2009)
The High-End Brand in 2004, Buick followed the Regal with the revolutionary LaCrosse for the 2005 model year. It had a front-wheel drive and two V6 engine components. The standard configurations were many, and there was even a six-seater variant. Despite having a 4-speed automatic gearbox as standard, this was fuel-efficient, earning it the distinction of SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) for the first time in 2006. The company also used the 4-speed automatic transmission on the second vehicle. The 3.8L engine in the basic model produced 200 horsepower, while the 3.6L engine in the top trim option, CXS, produced 240 horsepower. The LaCrosse acquired the LaCrosse Super 5.3L V8 small-block engine in its final year of manufacture, 2008. It was Buick's quickest series ever, with an acceleration of 5.7-second from 0-60 mph (0-97 kph) and a top speed of 150 mph (240 kph). They phased the LaCrosse out of manufacturing in December 2008.
Buick LaCrosse Second Generation (2009 - 2016)
At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2009, Buick introduced the second generation of the LaCrosse. They released the model as a "2010 model." It was more of a transformation than just an evolution of the one that came before it. New engine lineup: GM completed the new design language with a different engine lineup with more potent or fuel-efficient power generation. Quick fun fact, the Buick Regal, Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, and Chevrolet Impala share the same platform. Under the hood, GM mounted various gasoline engines, all matched exclusively with a 6-speed automatic transmission. These engines distributed power to the front or all four corners for specific variants. General Motors made three other debuts for the LaCrosse. These debuts were: Canadian market - Buick LaCrosse Allure, Korean market - Buick LaCrosse Alpheon and Chinese market - Buick LaCrosse Roewe 950. The company shifted manufacturing of North American models from Oshawa to Kansas City, where the Chevrolet Malibu operates on the same manufacturing line. The distribution of the 2010 year models was pushed back a few weeks to ensure quality assurance. A month later, production for the Chinese market began.

There was either a four-cylinder mild-hybrid system or a V6 engine that produced 310 horsepower in the engine bay. The 6-speed automatic transmission was essential for the four-cylinder engine and lower trim levels, while the 9-speed or 8-speed automatic transmissions were standard for the higher-end models. Using the E2XX platform, the third generation LaCrosse launched the 2015 LA Auto Show as a 2017 edition. A four-cylinder mild-hybrid system or a V6 engine produced 310 horsepower in the engine compartment. The 6-speed automatic transmission was standard for the four-cylinder engine and lower trim levels, while the 9-speed or 8-speed automatic transmissions were standard for the higher-end models.
Buick LaCrosse Facelift (2019)
The 2019 LaCrosse received a facelift in the Chinese market, adding a 2.0L turbocharged engine to the lineup of available powertrains. One of GM's eighth-generation Ecotec engines, the new 2.0L turbo engine can produce 237 horsepower and 350 n-m of torque. For the New LaCrosse generation, trim levels are 652T Luxury, 652T Elite, and 652T Distinguished. In 2021, a 1.5L turbocharged engine became standard equipment on the 552T trim level.
Buick LaCrosse Avenir
Buick has now unveiled the 2022 version of its flagship sedan, aimed at the Asian market. The new automobile has the same look as the original. Still, they will add fewer comfort elements to make the car more inexpensive and competitive in Asia's challenging sedan category.
