The Chevrolet Metro is a 3-door hatchback marketed by Chevrolet in North America from 1998 to 2001.
History of the Chevrolet Metro
The third generation North American "Cultus," or Sprint/Metro line, was debuted in 1995 as a three-door hatchback and four-door sedan based on a stretched version of the second generation Cultus's longer wheelbase platform. Suzuki created the M chassis and the drivetrains, but the car was styled at GM's Design Center in the same way as the larger Chevrolet Cavalier. These vehicles were sold in North America under the Geo Metro and Chevrolet Metro nameplates and were manufactured exclusively by CAMI Automotive from the 1998 model year onward. After the 2001 model year, production was discontinued.
Price
In 2001, General Motors retailed the 2001 Chevrolet Metro with a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $12,515 for the base model, which is around $20,929 in 2022.
