The Derways Cowboy is a mid-size SUV manufactured and marketed by Derways from 2003 to 2006.
History of Derways Cowboy
Cherkessk, Russia, is home to the Derways vehicle manufacturer, founded in October 2002. The Derways-313104 Cowboy mid-size SUV was introduced in August 2003 with a unique plastic-metal body on the Romanian ARO frame and a Romanian gas engine or a made-to-order French diesel engine Peugeot by the company. When they added Chinese-made chassis (version 313101/313102/313105) to the Derways Cowboy, the business eventually turned to making SUVs off of Chinese vehicle kits after 2005.
In 2017 for the secondary market of Russia, Derways sold the Derways Cowboy with an MSRP of 150,000 rubles ($1,880).
At the same time, the Cowboy is one of the most comfortable, dependable, and cost-effective vehicles on the market at that time. Derways used plastic to construct the wheel arches, hood, door panels, and bumpers. The double-hinged rear door is a common design feature. All other local models have similar levels of trim. Derways added a combination of instruments and a microclimate control for the instrument panel and air intakes of the VAZ-2106 type. The instrument panel is equipped with a combination of instruments and a microclimate control unit of the VAZ-2110 type and air intakes of the VAZ-2106 type. Standard features include a height-adjustable steering column, a steering wheel with leather sheath, power steering, central locking, electric exterior mirrors, power windows for all doors, a removable sunroof, and heated front seats. Available options for the Derways Cowboy are air conditioning, leather upholstery, parking sensors, alloy wheels, bumpers and mirrors in body color, dividing mesh in the cabin, metallic paint, railings, TV system, crankcase with a platform, winch, preheater, tow bar.
The 2004 Derways Cowboy engine delivers 160 hp (119 kW) at 5,200 rpm and 183 lb-ft (248 Nm) at 3,400 rpm of torque. The Derways Cowboy has a top speed of 90 mph (145 kph) and a curb weight of 4,162 lbs (1,888 kg). Derways sold the Cowboy as an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model with a 5-speed manual transmission powered by a 3.0 I V6 engine.
